Here is an absolutely fascinating video that chronicles the history of the Amen Break. I had always heard of certain underground electronic sub-genres based around a single break beat but never did realize where the beat was from or its history. And I had never realized just how many genres it spanned. This video is 18 minutes long but it is well worth it.
